Message from the Guild President (2024-2025)

It is with profound reverence that I express my gratitude to the Almighty God for our sustained lives and His unwavering support. It is through His grace that our nation, and particularly the West-Nile Region, has been blessed with the distinguished Muni University. To all the new students, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on your journey to Muni University. I am thrilled to welcome you to this exceptional institution, where a transformative educational experience awaits you.

Muni University prides itself on a well-established student leadership system known as the Guild Government, which serves as a conduit for addressing student issues and liaising with the University management through the office of the Dean of Students. The Guild Government is currently composed of thirty-three (33) officials, elected by the student body, including the Guild President and Vice President, the Guild Speaker and Deputy, the Secretary General and Deputy, ten Ministers, and nineteen Guild Representative Councilors.

New Students’ Orientation
Throughout the orientation week for new students, Guild Officials will be readily available. They will oversee the daily activities, assisting new students in finding suitable hostels and settling in comfortably. Do not hesitate to seek their guidance.

GUILD ACTIVITIES
A myriad of Guild activities are designed to keep you actively engaged which among others include;

Fresher’s Ball
Muni University Students’ Guild is delighted to host the Fresher’s Ball, an exuberant event that marks the beginning of the academic year. Organized by the Guild, this event is a warm welcome to new students, offering a memorable introduction to campus life.

Sports
The University is a strong proponent of sports and wholeheartedly supports the Guild’s involvement in sports competitions. Muni University is recognized as the only public university in the West Nile Region, actively participating in the Arua District Tournament. You are warmly invited to join the University’s teams and contribute to our enduring legacy of success.

Leadership
The Guild Council is a collective of elected student representatives who are committed to championing your needs and interests within a structured framework. During Guild elections, students are encouraged to form their own political parties within the University, rather than aligning with national political parties. Please feel free to contact any Guild representative with your concerns or suggestions.
The leadership structure includes

  1. Guild President
  2. Vice President
  3. Guild Speaker
  4. Secretary General
  5. Ministers
  6. Guild Representative Councilors (GRCs)

Culture
Muni University is a culturally diverse institution. To honor and promote our cultural heritage, the Guild organizes annual cultural galas, rewarding all participants, with the winner receiving the largest prize. We invite you to join this celebration, where your cultural group may have the opportunity to win the grand prize.

SECURITY
Security is a matter of utmost importance, and it begins with personal awareness. Our continuing students are knowledgeable about the campus and can provide valuable assistance. If you are uncertain about any individual or situation, please seek guidance from continuing students. In the event of any issues, do not hesitate to seek support from your peers, Guild officials, University security officers, the Dean of Students, or any staff member. For your safety, avoid moving alone late at night and opt to move in groups.

Muni University is more than a place of academic pursuit; it is a community where you can explore your potential, enhance your abilities, and build lasting friendships. Both the administration and the Students’ Guild are dedicated to supporting you throughout your journey. Embrace this new chapter, get involved, and make the most of your time at Muni University.

Welcome to a new chapter, Freshers!
