Muni University is a public university in Arua City, in Uganda’s West Nile sub-region. Its vision is to be a model university for transformation and development.

Muni University was established by the Government of Uganda through Statutory Instrument No. 31 of 2013, under the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act. The main campus stands on Muni Hill, about 3 km south of Arua City, in North-Western Uganda — the only public university in the West Nile region.

From one faculty and a small pioneer class, Muni has grown to six faculties offering certificate, bachelor’s, postgraduate diploma and master’s programmes, with a strong focus on science, technology, health, education, agriculture and management, and a mission that reaches far beyond the campus.

Our university should not be an ivory tower, but rather its knowledge must reach and transform the communities it was created to serve.
