Independent, objective and risk-based assurance over the use of public funds.
Muni University’s internal audit and control system is aligned with the Public Finance Management Act (2015) and the guidelines of the Office of the Auditor General. Internal and external audits ensure accountability for public funds, promote effective risk management and safeguard resources vital for education, research and community transformation.
The Internal Audit Department identifies areas for improvement, mitigates risks and advises management. The University’s risk management takes an institution-wide view, assessing potential exposures and recommending mitigation for long-term sustainability — in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 4 (Quality Education), and the standards of the National Council for Higher Education.
