Dean of the Faculty of Education, West Nile’s teacher-training hub, leading a mission to produce competent, compassionate teachers and school leaders.
Dr. Joyce Bukirwa Rebecca (PhD) leads the Faculty of Education. Its programmes — from bachelor’s degrees to the Master of Education in Educational Planning and Management and the Diploma in Educational Leadership and Management — combine subject knowledge, gender-responsive teaching and ICT.
Through the faculty’s partnership with the Aga Khan University it trains head teachers in modern school leadership, and its research addresses violence against refugee children, teacher rewards and learner assessment. In December 2024 she attended FAWE’s training on gender-responsive pedagogy.
